Beware of scammers using the Australia Post brand to deceive people

You are reminded not to open unsolicited emails and, if you do so inadvertently, to not click on any attachments or links in the message. Do not respond to any unsolicited offers sent by email, particularly messages that ask you to disclose your personal or financial details. Clicking on attachments or links, or responding to offers with personal or financial information may compromise your computer system or leave you open to identity or financial theft.
Australia Post has warned people about a scam that is circulating which offers a job working from home for the organisation. The scam email comes from a user with the sender name svsort[at]auspost-us[dot]com or similar. Recipients may also be sent fake employment contracts.
Australia Post has stated on its scam alert web page, ‘Australia Post does not send emails to customers offering jobs or providing employment contracts. If you receive this email, please delete it. If you have fallen victim to the scam, please call the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on 1300 795 995 to report the matter to SCAMwatch.
