The online Regional Digital Tech Hub will provide independent information on digital technologies and issue resolution to regional, rural and remote consumers.

The Regional Digital Tech Hub (Digital Tech Hub) forms part of the $220 million Stronger Regional Digital Connectivity Package, announced in the Government's response to the 2018 Regional Telecommunications Review.

The Review recommended the development of an online technology hub to provide independent and factual information on digital choices to people in regional areas.

Following a competitive open tender process, the National Farmers' Federation was chosen to develop and run the Digital Tech Hub, which is anticipated to be operational before the end of 2020.

In order to give key stakeholders the opportunity to have a say in the design of the Digital Tech Hub, a consultation paper seeking input was published on the Department's website in January 2020. Responses to this consultation helped inform the final design of the Digital Tech hub.

The Digital Tech Hub will include a website, dedicated phone support and social media. It will provide information on troubleshooting mobile phone and internet issues, choosing a service or escalating faults, and improving connectivity for regional homes and businesses.
