We are seeking stakeholder views on the operation of the Copyright Amendment (Online Infringement) Act 2015 (Online Infringement Amendment).

The Online Infringement Amendment enables a copyright owner to apply to the Federal Court of Australia to block access to an online location operated outside Australia with the primary purpose of infringing (or facilitating infringement of) copyright content.

This review supports the Australian Government’s commitment to review the operation of the Online Infringement Amendment.

The review will examine:

  • The effectiveness and efficiency of the mechanism introduced by the Online Infringement Amendment
  • How well the application process and injunctions, once granted are working for parties

We will consider written submissions in response to issues raised in the consultation paper until 16 March 2018 5:00pm AEST .
