The Minister has directed the ACMA to have in place arrangements, by 30 April 2015, to issue apparatus licences in the 3.5 GHz frequency band (3400 to 3600 MHz) for the NBN fixed wireless network in the metro fringe of the mainland capital cities. This follows the NBN Co Fixed Wireless and Satellite Review.  NBN Co would pay a market rate for the spectrum.
