A Request for Expressions of Interest to provide the Triple Zero Emergency Call Service has been issued.

7 October 2016

On 6 October 2016, the Minister for Communications and the Arts announced a Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) process for the provision of the Triple Zero Emergency Call Service.

This REOI process is an important step in ensuring all Australians have access to a world-class Triple Zero service that can keep pace with technological advancements and changing consumer expectations.

It follows the Review of the National Triple Zero (000) Operator, for which a public report and implementation plan were released earlier this year.

The EOI documents for the supply of the Triple Zero Emergency Call Service are available on the AusTender website. Submissions close 25 November 2016.

The Department of Communications and the Arts is also conducting a separate REOI process seeking technology solutions to enable accurate location-based data for emergency calls made from mobile phones, with submissions due by 14 October 2016.
