The Government announced a review last month on the management of Australia’s .au domain to ensure that it remains fit for purpose and meets the needs of the Australian online community.
The management framework was last reviewed 16 years ago and since that time the digital landscape has changed significantly. The .au domain has become an important part of infrastructure, with millions of Australian businesses, organisations and individuals using Australia’s domain name system every day.
We have released a discussion paper to seek views from industry and community stakeholders on the management of the .au domain.
We expect to report outcomes of the review to Government in early 2018.
