Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) launched last week setting out a number of initiatives we will undertake in our shared journey towards reconciliation.
Secretary Mike Mrdak AO along with Andrea Kelly, Deputy CEO of Reconciliation Australia, and our Indigenous Champion Stephen Arnott joined staff and members of our Indigenous Staff Network, who were welcomed to Country by Ngunnawal Elder, Aunty Violet Sheridan.
The RAP outlines the actions we will take within our department and initiatives to improve opportunities for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
The development process was led by our Indigenous Staff Network and RAP Working Group and helps to strengthen our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Bradly Kickett’s painting ‘Connecting for Reconciliation’ was incorporated into the design of the RAP. Carbon Creative, an Indigenous creative agency based in Queensland, helped bring the RAP to life.
