The program has activated its 400th base station this week under rounds 1 and 2. Hundreds of communities across regional and rural Australia are already benefiting from more reliable mobile coverage delivered under the program.
Improved mobile coverage means people living outside urban areas can stay connected, use online services, learn and do business remotely, and stay in touch with family and friends.
The Government has invested $220 million in the program, which will provide 765 new or improved mobile base stations under rounds 1 and 2. This commitment includes $60 million for the Priority Locations Round to address an additional 106 priority black spot locations.
