Messages for Girls in ICT Day
28 April 2016 is Girls in ICT Day—an annual International Telecommunications Union (ITU) event to empower and encourage girls and young women to consider careers in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.
To mark international Girls in ICT Day—we are sharing stories of women working in information and communication technology (ICT) roles in our Department. We've asked them what inspired them to pursue a career in ICT, what makes their job interesting and what message would they give to a young girl interested in working in IT?
With the theme for Girls in ICT Day being expanding horizons, changing attitudes, we wanted to provide a different perspective of career options in ICT such as working in the public sector. These videos add to our video library featuring female role models working in ICT.
