We have released an implementation plan for the Review of the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND).
The IPND is a centralised database containing records of all Australian telephone and associated customer details.
The plan outlines steps the Government will take to work with industry to minimise the regulatory burden while improving the current IPND scheme, including:
enhancing data quality and accuracy
improving access, and
increasing transparency of governance arrangements.
The review, released in May 2015, looked at the effectiveness and continued need for the IPND, in light of changes to telecommunications technology.
You can view the implementation plan on the Publications page.
