Telstra has launched a new website which provides information about the mobile base stations it has co-funded under round 1 of the Mobile Black Spot Programme.
16 March 2016
The Mobile black spot program website provides an easy way for you to follow the rollout progress of each of Telstra's 429 base stations, allowing you to find a specific site or search for funded locations near your area.
The website provides details on the expected timing of the rollout of each base station, and will be updated regularly.
Under round 1, the Government committed $100 million to deliver 499 new or upgraded mobile base stations across Australia. This funding was added to by Telstra ($165 million) and Vodafone ($20 million), as well as co-contributions from state and local governments and third parties.
The Australian Government has committed an additional $60 million for round 2 of the programme, with the locations to receive mobile base stations expected to be announced in the second half of 2016.
