Analysis shows Australians are taking up higher speed broadband plans.
11 December 2020
Analysis released today shows Australians are embracing higher speed fixed broadband plans over time.
The analysis is the latest in a series of fact sheets developed by the Bureau of Communications, Arts and Regional Research measuring Australia's broadband.
The analysis shows almost 70 per cent of NBN fixed connections were plans with download speeds of at least 50 Megabits per second, up from around 16 per cent in June 2016.
Australia also ranks sixth amongst comparable countries for the proportion of households on speeds equal to or greater than 25 Mbps. Around 84 per cent of households have subscriptions within this speed range in Australia.
New fact sheets on Australia's fixed broadband performance will be released in coming weeks.
