Australian Government's broadband policy
Information about the Australian Government's plan to deliver high-speed broadband access to all Australians by the end of 2019.
NBN Co's Interim Satellite Service
NBN Co Limited provides an Interim Satellite Service through its retail service providers. This service targets people without access to a commercial, metro-comparable broadband service, ahead of the launch of its long term satellite service in 2015.
Telecommunications in new developments
Arrangements are in place so the occupants of new developments have ready access to telecommunications, including through the deployment of fibre to the premises (FTTP) infrastructure. The early installation of fibre technology will give property buyers early access to the benefits of next-generation broadband and help avoid future retrofitting costs.
This page provides links to information on the current legislative framework for broadband and other networks.
